BIMSTEC
BIMSTEC, or the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation, is a regional organization founded in 1997. It includes seven member countries: Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, and Bhutan. The group aims to promote economic growth, social progress, and cultural exchange among its members, focusing on sectors like trade, technology, and energy.
The organization serves as a bridge between South Asia and Southeast Asia, facilitating cooperation on various issues such as climate change, disaster management, and connectivity. BIMSTEC plays a crucial role in enhancing regional stability and fostering collaboration among its diverse member states.
