Atlas Lion
The Atlas Lion is a subspecies of the lion that once roamed the mountainous regions of North Africa, particularly in the Atlas Mountains. Known for its distinctive mane, which is darker and fuller than that of other lions, the Atlas Lion was a powerful predator, primarily hunting large herbivores.
Unfortunately, the Atlas Lion is now considered extinct, with the last known individuals disappearing in the early 20th century. Habitat loss, hunting, and competition with humans contributed to its decline. Today, the Atlas Lion serves as a symbol of conservation efforts aimed at protecting remaining lion populations and their habitats.
