Panthera Leo
Panthera Leo, commonly known as the lion, is a large carnivorous mammal belonging to the family Felidae. Native to Africa and parts of Asia, lions are known for their distinctive manes, particularly in males. They live in social groups called prides, which typically consist of related females, their cubs, and a few males.
Lions are apex predators, primarily hunting large herbivores such as zebras and wildebeests. They are known for their powerful build and strong jaws, which help them capture and kill prey. Unfortunately, lion populations are declining due to habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict.
