Andronikos II Palaeologus
Andronikos II Palaeologus was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1282 to 1328. He was the son of Michael VIII Palaeologus and became emperor after his father's death. His reign was marked by internal strife and external threats, particularly from the Ottoman Turks and the Serbian Empire.
During his rule, Andronikos II faced challenges in maintaining the empire's territory and influence. He was known for his patronage of the arts and his efforts to restore the Byzantine economy. However, his inability to effectively deal with military pressures led to a decline in the empire's power.
