Andronikos II Komnenos
Andronikos II Komnenos was a Byzantine Emperor who ruled from 1282 to 1328. He was born in 1259 and was the son of Michael VIII Palaiologos, the founder of the Palaiologos dynasty. His reign was marked by internal strife, economic difficulties, and the growing threat from the Ottoman Turks.
During his rule, Andronikos II faced challenges from both external enemies and internal factions. He attempted to strengthen the empire's military and economic position but struggled with limited resources. His reign ended when he was overthrown by his grandson, Andronikos III Komnenos, leading to a significant shift in Byzantine politics.
