Palaiologos dynasty
The Palaiologos dynasty was a Byzantine royal family that ruled from 1261 to 1453. They came to power after the recapture of Constantinople from the Latin Empire. The dynasty is known for its efforts to restore the Byzantine Empire's former glory, although it faced numerous challenges, including economic decline and external threats.
During the reign of the Palaiologos, the empire experienced cultural and artistic revival, particularly in literature and architecture. However, the dynasty ultimately could not withstand the growing power of the Ottoman Empire, leading to the fall of Constantinople in 1453, marking the end of Byzantine rule.
