Ancient Roman Kings
The period of the Ancient Roman Kings lasted from 753 BC to 509 BC, marking the early history of Rome. According to legend, Romulus was the first king, credited with founding the city. There were seven kings in total, each contributing to the development of Roman society, law, and infrastructure.
The kings ruled with significant power, but their reigns ended with the establishment of the Roman Republic. The last king, Tarquin the Proud, was overthrown due to his tyranny, leading to a system of governance that emphasized elected officials and shared power, shaping the future of Rome.
