American whiskey
American whiskey is a distilled alcoholic beverage made primarily from fermented grain mash. The grains used can include corn, rye, barley, and wheat. There are several types of American whiskey, including bourbon, rye whiskey, and Tennessee whiskey, each with its own unique production methods and flavor profiles.
Bourbon, for example, must contain at least 51% corn and be aged in new charred oak barrels, giving it a sweet and rich flavor. Rye whiskey, on the other hand, must contain at least 51% rye and tends to have a spicier taste. These whiskeys are often enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails.
