Tennessee whiskey
Tennessee whiskey is a type of American whiskey that is produced in the state of Tennessee. It must be made from at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak barrels. The production process includes a unique step called the Lincoln County Process, where the whiskey is filtered through charcoal before aging, which gives it a smoother flavor.
To be labeled as Tennessee whiskey, it must also meet specific legal requirements, similar to those for bourbon. This includes being distilled to no more than 125 proof and aged for a minimum of two years. Popular brands include Jack Daniel's and George Dickel.
