Amalie of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach
Amalie of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach was a German princess born on December 3, 1799. She was the daughter of Charles Frederick, Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach and Maria Pavlovna of Russia. Amalie became known for her cultural contributions and her role in the court life of Weimar, a center of German literature and arts.
In 1820, she married Ernst I, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, further strengthening the ties between German principalities. Amalie was involved in various charitable activities and supported the arts, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of her time. She passed away on April 24, 1869.
