Alexander of Hesse-Darmstadt was a German prince born on April 24, 1820. He was a member of the Grand Ducal House of Hesse and served as a military officer in the Prussian Army. In 1841, Alexander married Princess Elisabeth of Hesse, strengthening ties between noble families.
