Hesse-Darmstadt
Hesse-Darmstadt was a historical state in Germany that existed from the late Middle Ages until the early 20th century. It was part of the larger region of Hesse and was known for its capital, Darmstadt. The state played a significant role in the political landscape of Germany, particularly during the time of the German Empire.
In 1918, following World War I, Hesse-Darmstadt was dissolved, and its territory became part of the newly formed People's State of Hesse. The region is now part of the modern German state of Hesse, which continues to be an important cultural and economic area in Germany.
