Ahmad Chalabi
Ahmad Chalabi was an Iraqi politician and a prominent figure in the movement to overthrow the regime of Saddam Hussein. Born in 1944, he studied in the United States and became a key advocate for the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003. Chalabi led the Iraqi National Congress, a group that sought to unite various Iraqi factions against Hussein's government.
After the invasion, Chalabi held various political positions, including serving as a member of the Iraqi Governing Council. Despite his initial influence, he faced criticism for his role in promoting misleading intelligence about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, which contributed to the justification for the war.
