African Rhinoceros
The African rhinoceros, commonly known as the rhino, is a large, thick-skinned herbivore native to Africa. There are two main species: the white rhinoceros and the black rhinoceros. Rhinos are known for their distinctive horns, which are made of keratin, the same material as human hair and nails. They primarily inhabit savannas, grasslands, and forests.
Rhinos play a crucial role in their ecosystems by helping to maintain the balance of vegetation. Unfortunately, they face significant threats from poaching and habitat loss, leading to a decline in their populations. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect these magnificent animals and their habitats.
