The White Rhinoceros, also known as the square-lipped rhinoceros, is one of the largest species of rhinoceros. It is native to southern Africa and can weigh up to 2,300 kilograms (5,000 pounds). This species is characterized by its broad mouth, which is adapted for grazing on grasses. There are two subspecies: the Southern White Rhinoceros and the critically endangered Northern White Rhinoceros. White rhinos are social animals, often found in groups called crashes. They primarily inhabit savannas and grasslands, where they play a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystem. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect them from poaching and habitat loss, as their populations have significantly declined in recent years.
