African Rainforest
The African Rainforest, primarily located in the Congo Basin, is one of the largest rainforests in the world. It is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including thousands of plant species, birds, mammals, and insects. The rainforest plays a crucial role in regulating the Earth's climate and is vital for carbon storage.
This ecosystem is characterized by its dense canopy, which can reach heights of over 50 meters. The African Rainforest experiences high rainfall, averaging between 1750 to 2000 millimeters annually, and maintains a warm temperature year-round. It is also a critical habitat for endangered species like the Western Lowland Gorilla and the Forest Elephant.
