Aesculus
Aesculus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Sapindaceae, commonly known as horse chestnuts. This genus includes about 13 species, primarily found in North America and Asia. Aesculus trees are known for their large, palmate leaves and showy flower clusters, which can attract various pollinators.
The seeds of some Aesculus species, particularly Aesculus hippocastanum, are often referred to as horse chestnuts. While these seeds are not edible for humans, they have been used in traditional medicine and as a natural remedy for various ailments. The trees are also popular in landscaping due to their attractive appearance.
