Aaronites
The term "Aaronites" refers to the descendants of Aaron, the brother of Moses in the Hebrew Bible. They are part of the Levite tribe, which was designated for religious duties and responsibilities in ancient Israel. The Aaronites specifically held the priestly role, serving in the Tabernacle and later in the Temple in Jerusalem, performing rituals and sacrifices.
Aaronites are significant in Jewish tradition as they are believed to be the original priests, known as Kohanim. Their lineage is important for various religious practices, including the Priestly Blessing, which is a special blessing given by Kohanim to the congregation during certain services.
