톈진 조약
The 톈진 조약 (Tianjin Treaty) was signed in 1856 between the Qing Dynasty of China and several Western powers, including Britain, France, Russia, and the United States. It aimed to resolve conflicts arising from the Second Opium War and established terms for trade, diplomatic relations, and the opening of additional ports to foreign commerce.
The treaty allowed foreign envoys to reside in Beijing and granted foreign nationals certain legal protections. It also legalized the opium trade, which had significant social and economic impacts on China. The Tianjin Treaty marked a crucial moment in China's interactions with Western nations during the 19th century.
