民進党
The 民進党 (Democratic Progressive Party, DPP) is a major political party in Taiwan. Founded in 1986, it advocates for democracy, social justice, and Taiwan's distinct identity. The party has historically supported the idea of Taiwan as a sovereign state, separate from China.
The DPP has been a significant force in Taiwanese politics, especially since winning the presidency in 2016 with Tsai Ing-wen as its candidate. The party's platform includes progressive policies on issues like environmental protection, labor rights, and healthcare reform, aiming to improve the quality of life for Taiwanese citizens.
