太閤検地
太閤検地 (Taikō Kenti) was a land survey system implemented in Japan during the late 16th century, specifically under the rule of 豊臣秀吉 (Toyotomi Hideyoshi). This system aimed to accurately measure and assess agricultural land to determine tax obligations. It helped establish a more organized and efficient taxation system, which was crucial for the unification of Japan.
The survey categorized land based on its productivity, allowing for fairer tax rates. By standardizing land measurements, 太閤検地 also facilitated better resource management and agricultural planning, contributing to the economic stability of the period and laying the groundwork for future land reforms.
