基博峰
基博峰, also known as K2, is the second-highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) above sea level. It is located in the Karakoram range, which spans the borders of Pakistan and China. Known for its challenging climbing conditions, K2 is often considered more difficult to ascend than Mount Everest due to its steepness and unpredictable weather.
The mountain was first successfully climbed on July 31, 1954, by an Italian expedition led by Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni. K2 is part of the Baltoro Glacier region, which is renowned for its stunning landscapes and unique geological features. The mountain attracts experienced climbers from around the world, but its ascent remains a significant challenge.
