Lino Lacedelli
Lino Lacedelli was an Italian mountaineer born on February 4, 1925, in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. He is best known for his successful ascent of K2, the second-highest mountain in the world, which he reached on July 26, 1954, as part of an Italian expedition led by Ardito Desio. This achievement made him one of the first climbers to summit K2.
Lacedelli's climbing career included numerous other significant ascents in the Himalayas and the Alps. He was recognized for his skills and contributions to mountaineering, earning respect within the climbing community. Lino Lacedelli passed away on October 20, 2022.
