محمد بن عبد الوهاب
محمد بن عبد الوهاب (1703-1792) was an influential Islamic scholar from the Arabian Peninsula. He is best known for founding the Wahhabi movement, which aimed to return to what he considered the purest form of Islam. His teachings emphasized monotheism and rejected practices he viewed as innovations or deviations from the original teachings of Islam.
His ideas gained significant traction in the 18th century, particularly in Saudi Arabia, where he formed an alliance with Muhammad bin Saud, the founder of the first Saudi state. This partnership helped spread his reformist ideas and laid the groundwork for the modern Saudi state.
