Руб' аль-Халі
"Руб' аль-Халі" (Rub' al-Khali), also known as the Empty Quarter, is one of the largest sand deserts in the world, located on the Arabian Peninsula. It spans parts of several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. The desert is characterized by its vast stretches of sand dunes, some reaching heights of over 250 meters.
The climate in the Rub' al-Khali is extremely arid, with very little rainfall and high temperatures during the day. Despite its harsh conditions, the desert is home to unique flora and fauna adapted to survive in such an environment. The region also holds significant oil reserves, making it economically important.
