Χαμάς
Χαμάς is a Palestinian militant and political organization founded in 1987 during the First Intifada. It emerged from the Muslim Brotherhood and aims to establish an Islamic state in Palestine. The group is known for its social services, but it also engages in armed resistance against Israel, which it considers an occupying force.
The organization gained political power in 2006 when it won the Palestinian legislative elections. Since then, Χαμάς has governed the Gaza Strip, leading to conflicts with the rival Fatah party and ongoing tensions with Israel. Its actions and policies have significant implications for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
