{K2
K2 is the second-highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) above sea level. Located in the Karakoram range on the border between Pakistan and China, it is known for its challenging climbing conditions and technical difficulty. Many climbers consider it more difficult to summit than Mount Everest due to its steep ascents and unpredictable weather.
The mountain was first successfully climbed on July 7, 1954, by an Italian expedition led by Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni. K2 is often referred to as "Savage Mountain" because of the high fatality rate among climbers. Despite its dangers, it remains a popular destination for experienced mountaineers seeking adventure.
