{Anglo-Gorkha War
The Anglo-Gorkha War took place between 1814 and 1816, primarily involving the forces of the British East India Company and the Gorkha Kingdom of Nepal. The conflict arose due to territorial disputes and the Gorkhas' expansionist ambitions in the region. The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Sugauli, which significantly reduced Gorkha territory.
As a result of the war, the Gorkhas lost control over several regions, including parts of present-day India and Nepal. The treaty established a boundary between British India and Nepal, laying the groundwork for future relations between the two entities.
