sugar shack
A "sugar shack" is a small building or cabin where sap from maple trees is collected and processed into maple syrup. During the spring, when temperatures rise, the sap flows from the trees, and it is gathered and transported to the sugar shack.
Inside the sugar shack, the sap is boiled down to remove excess water, concentrating the sugars to create syrup. This process is often a community event, with families and friends gathering to enjoy the sweet treat and the outdoors. Sugar shacks are a traditional part of maple sugaring in regions like New England and Canada.
