sap collection
Sap collection is the process of gathering the fluid produced by certain trees, primarily maple and birch. This fluid, known as sap, contains sugars, nutrients, and water. During specific seasons, usually in late winter or early spring, the sap flows more freely, making it the ideal time for collection.
To collect sap, small holes are drilled into the tree's trunk, and taps are inserted. A container is then placed to catch the dripping sap. Once collected, the sap can be processed to make products like maple syrup or used in various culinary applications.
