province of Ulster
The province of Ulster is one of the four provinces of Ireland, located in the northern part of the island. It consists of nine counties: Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry, Cavan, Monaghan, and Donegal. Ulster has a rich cultural heritage and is known for its stunning landscapes, including mountains, lakes, and coastal areas.
Historically, Ulster has been significant in Irish history and politics, particularly during the Troubles, a conflict that lasted from the late 1960s to 1998. Today, six of its counties are part of Northern Ireland, while the remaining three are in the Republic of Ireland.
