natural gas wells
Natural gas wells are structures drilled into the ground to extract natural gas, a fossil fuel primarily composed of methane. These wells tap into underground reservoirs where natural gas accumulates, often found alongside oil deposits. The extraction process involves drilling deep into the earth, sometimes several thousand feet, to reach these gas reserves.
Once a natural gas well is established, it can produce gas for many years. The gas is then transported through pipelines to processing facilities, where it is purified and distributed for various uses, including heating, electricity generation, and as a fuel for vehicles. Natural gas is considered a cleaner alternative to other fossil fuels, like coal and oil.
