Natural gas
Natural gas is a fossil fuel primarily composed of methane, a colorless and odorless gas. It is formed from the remains of ancient marine organisms buried under layers of sediment and rock over millions of years. Natural gas is commonly used for heating, cooking, and electricity generation, making it an essential energy source in many households and industries.
In addition to its use as an energy source, natural gas is also a key raw material in the production of various chemicals, fertilizers, and plastics. It is often transported through pipelines or in liquefied form as LNG (liquefied natural gas) for easier storage and shipping.
