Little penguins, also known as fairy penguins, are the smallest species of penguin, standing about 12 to 13 inches tall. They are native to the southern coast of Australia and New Zealand. These penguins are known for their social behavior, often living in large colonies. They primarily feed on small fish and squid, which they catch while swimming.
