Adelie Penguins
Adelie Penguins are small, flightless birds native to the Antarctic region. They are easily recognized by their distinctive black and white coloring, with a black head and white ring around their eyes. These penguins typically stand about 18 to 28 inches tall and weigh between 6 to 12 pounds. They primarily feed on krill, fish, and other small marine creatures.
Adelie Penguins are social animals, often found in large colonies during breeding season. They build nests from pebbles and lay one to three eggs, which both parents take turns incubating. These penguins are well-adapted to their cold environment, using their thick layer of blubber and feathers for insulation.
