lacrimal ducts
Lacrimal ducts are small tubes in the eye that transport tears from the lacrimal glands to the surface of the eye. These ducts help keep the eye moist and clear of debris. When you blink, tears spread across the eye, and excess tears drain through these ducts.
When tears are produced in excess, such as during crying, they flow into the puncta, tiny openings at the inner corners of the eyelids. From there, tears travel through the lacrimal ducts into the nasolacrimal sac, eventually draining into the nasal cavity. This process helps maintain eye health and comfort.
