Tears
Tears are a clear liquid produced by the lacrimal glands in the eyes. They serve several important functions, including keeping the eyes moist, providing lubrication, and helping to remove irritants. Tears can be triggered by various factors, such as emotions, physical pain, or environmental irritants like smoke or dust.
There are three main types of tears: basal tears, which are constantly produced to keep the eyes lubricated; reflex tears, which occur in response to irritants; and emotional tears, which are linked to feelings of sadness, joy, or stress. Each type plays a vital role in maintaining eye health and emotional expression.
