clinical breast exams
A clinical breast exam is a physical examination of the breasts performed by a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or nurse. During the exam, the provider checks for any unusual lumps, changes in size or shape, and other abnormalities. This exam is typically part of routine health check-ups, especially for women over the age of 20.
The purpose of a clinical breast exam is to detect potential signs of breast cancer or other breast conditions early. It is usually recommended to be done every one to three years for women in their 20s and 30s, and annually for women aged 40 and older.
