Yuzhny Island
Yuzhny Island is part of the Severnaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, located north of Russia. It is the second-largest island in the archipelago, covering an area of approximately 3,000 square kilometers. The island is largely covered by glaciers and has a harsh polar climate, making it largely uninhabited.
The island is known for its rugged terrain and unique wildlife, including polar bears and various seabird species. Yuzhny Island is also significant for scientific research, particularly in the fields of glaciology and climate change, as it provides valuable data on Arctic ecosystems.
