The Yungang Grottoes are a series of ancient Buddhist cave temples located near Datong in Shanxi Province, China. Carved into the cliffs during the 5th and 6th centuries, these grottoes feature over 51,000 statues and numerous inscriptions, showcasing the artistry and religious devotion of the time.
Spanning approximately 1 kilometer, the site includes 252 caves, with the largest containing impressive sculptures of Buddha and other figures.
