Yomari Punhi
Yomari Punhi is a traditional festival celebrated by the Newar community in Nepal, particularly in the Kathmandu Valley. It usually falls in the month of December and marks the end of the rice harvest. The festival is known for its unique delicacy called Yomari, which is a steamed dumpling filled with a mixture of coconut, jaggery, and sesame seeds.
During Yomari Punhi, families come together to prepare and share these dumplings, symbolizing unity and prosperity. The festival also includes various cultural activities, such as singing and dancing, which reflect the rich traditions of the Newar people.
