Yezidi
The Yezidi people are an ethno-religious group primarily found in northern Iraq. They follow a unique faith that combines elements of ancient Mesopotamian religions, Zoroastrianism, and Islam. The Yezidi community has a distinct cultural identity, with its own language, Kurmanji, and traditions.
Yezidis believe in a single God and revere seven angels, with the most important being Malik Taus, often depicted as a peacock. Historically, the Yezidi community has faced persecution, particularly during the ISIS conflict, which targeted them for their beliefs. Despite these challenges, they continue to preserve their rich cultural heritage.
