Yamas
The Yamas are ethical guidelines in Yoga philosophy that focus on how individuals interact with the world around them. They are part of the Eight Limbs of Yoga outlined by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. The Yamas consist of five principles: Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (non-stealing), Brahmacharya (moderation), and Aparigraha (non-possessiveness).
These principles encourage practitioners to cultivate a harmonious relationship with others and promote personal integrity. By adhering to the Yamas, individuals can create a foundation for a balanced and ethical life, enhancing their overall well-being and spiritual growth within the practice of yoga.
