Asteya
Asteya is a principle from the ancient Indian philosophy of Yoga and is one of the ethical guidelines known as the Yamas. It translates to "non-stealing" and emphasizes the importance of respecting others' possessions, time, and energy. Practicing asteya encourages individuals to cultivate contentment and gratitude for what they have, rather than coveting what belongs to others.
In a broader sense, asteya also applies to thoughts and intentions. It encourages people to avoid taking credit for others' work or ideas, fostering a sense of integrity and honesty. By embodying asteya, individuals contribute to a more harmonious and respectful community.
