Xin dynasty
The Xin dynasty was a short-lived Chinese dynasty that lasted from 9 to 23 AD. It was established by Wang Mang, a former regent who seized power from the Han dynasty. The Xin dynasty is known for its attempts to implement radical reforms, including land redistribution and currency changes, aimed at addressing social inequalities.
Despite these reforms, the Xin dynasty faced widespread resistance and economic difficulties. The dissatisfaction among the populace led to uprisings, including the Red Eyebrows Rebellion. Ultimately, the Xin dynasty collapsed, and the Han dynasty was restored, marking the end of Wang Mang's rule.
