World Trade Center site
The World Trade Center site is located in Lower Manhattan, New York City. It was originally home to a complex of seven buildings, including the iconic Twin Towers, which were completed in the early 1970s. The site became a symbol of international trade and commerce until the tragic events of September 11, 2001, when the towers were destroyed in a terrorist attack.
Today, the site has been transformed into a memorial and cultural space. The 9/11 Memorial honors the nearly 3,000 victims of the attacks, while the One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, stands as the main building of the new complex, symbolizing resilience and renewal.
