Twin Towers
The Twin Towers were a pair of iconic skyscrapers located in New York City. Completed in the early 1970s, they were part of the World Trade Center complex and stood at 1,368 and 1,362 feet tall, making them the tallest buildings in the world at the time. The towers were known for their distinctive design and were a symbol of American economic power.
On September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers were tragically destroyed in a terrorist attack by the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda. The event resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives and led to significant changes in U.S. security policies and global counter-terrorism efforts. Today, the site is home to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum.
