Westmalle
Westmalle is a Belgian Trappist brewery located in the village of Westmalle, near Antwerp. Founded in 1836 by the Trappist monks of the Westmalle Abbey, it is known for producing high-quality beers that adhere to traditional brewing methods. The brewery primarily produces two main styles: Westmalle Dubbel, a dark, rich ale, and Westmalle Tripel, a golden, strong ale.
The brewery is one of the few Trappist breweries in the world, meaning its beers are brewed within the walls of a Trappist monastery under the supervision of the monks. Westmalle beers are highly regarded for their complex flavors and are often considered benchmarks for other Belgian ales.
