West African Examination Council
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) is an examination body established in 1952 to conduct standardized tests for students in West Africa. It serves five member countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, and Liberia. WAEC is responsible for organizing the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), which assesses students' academic performance at the end of their secondary education.
WAEC aims to promote education and ensure the quality of examinations in the region. The council also provides educational services, including the development of curricula and the training of teachers. Its efforts contribute to improving educational standards across West Africa.
