Wadawurrung
The Wadawurrung are an Indigenous Australian people from the region now known as Victoria. They are part of the larger Kulin Nation and have a rich cultural heritage that includes traditional practices, languages, and connection to the land. The Wadawurrung people have lived in this area for thousands of years, maintaining their customs and traditions.
Their traditional territory includes the area around Geelong and extends to the Bellarine Peninsula and parts of the Great Dividing Range. The Wadawurrung language is part of the Pama-Nyungan language family, and efforts are ongoing to revive and preserve it. The community continues to engage in cultural activities and education to share their history and traditions.
